Set in bustling 18th century Vienna, the drama follows Mozart as he arrives seeking creative freedom, sparking admiration, scepticism and obsession in equal measure.
As his talent flourishes in spite of personal demons and a questionable reputation, Salieri’s envy becomes all-consuming, resulting in a rivalry that spans 30 years and ends in a confession of murder.
The ensemble cast features a strong lineup including Rory Kinnear, Lucy Cohu, Jonathan Aris, Ényì Okoronkwo and Jessica Alexander.
It also stars Hugh Sachs, Paul Bazely, Rupert Vansittart, Anastasia Martin, Nancy Farino, Olivia-Mai Barrett, Viola Prettejohn and Jyuddah Jaymes, rounding out a cast of seasoned performers and rising talents.
Amadeus is a Sky Atlantic series produced by Two Cities Television in association with Sky Studios, with NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution managing international sales.
The new series will land down under on 21 December, with all episodes dropping on BINGE and also premiering on Showcase at 8.30pm.
