Derby boss John Eustace has praised his squad after they beat Swansea despite injuries to the Championship’s joint top scorer Carlton Morris and defender Dion Sanderson.

He shared his reaction to the win with BBC Radio Derby:

“Listen, after a real disappointing result at the weekend, not performance, I thought the performance was good. The way we lost the game was disappointing on Saturday but the way we’ve bounced back today was outstanding.

“Obviously we’ve had to make a couple of changes. Danny Batth coming in was top drawer at the back there and obviously [Lars-Jorgen] Salveson coming in as that nine today, he scored a fantastic goal.

“I think first half, with the players taking on new roles, it took a while to get used to it but then second half, we just did one or two things at half time and second half I thought we were great.

“We always looked a threat on transition and scored two great goals and the defence looked very strong.

“The group are confident. It’s about the squad, that’s something I drive, it’s about the 46 games. Every single player is going to play such a vital part in what we do this season.

“There’s always going to be injuries, suspensions and that results aren’t always going to go how we want them but what we will guarantee is that the players will be 100% in and they’ll be sweating blood for the club. I think tonight was a prime example of that.”
