Former Bellator title challenger Sinead Kavanagh was arrested for assaulting two Civil Guard agents aboard a Ryanair flight traveling from Gran Canaria, Spain, to Dublin, Ireland.

According to the report, the pilot suspended the takeoff due to Kavanagh’s “aggressive behavior” toward the crew. The Canarias 7 channel reports that the fighter attacked crew members before departure. Two Civil Guard agents boarded the aircraft to escort Kavanagh off, after which a scuffle started. Sinead was arrested and taken to a holding cell at the airport.

Kavanagh was given a “provisional release” after appearing in court in Telde, Spain, on Tuesday. Her case is under investigation.

Kavanagh, 39, last competed in the cage in June 2024 at the Bellator Champions Series event, losing to Arlene Blencowe via submission in the second round. Her record includes nine wins and seven losses.
