EXCLUSIVE: Olympic gold medalist Noemie Fox has revealed the touching way her sister was involved in her proposal.
The canoe slalom star got engaged to Titouan Dupras earlier this year, the pair announcing the news in a combined Instagram post, writing: “A little secret we’ve been keeping from you.”
“Who could have imagined that our little love story in Rio all those years ago would bring us here!

“So proud of everything we’ve written together, et de tout ce qu’il nous reste à écrire (and everything that remains for us to write).”
During the Piper-Heidsieck AO26 Tennis Launch Party in Melbourne last night, Noemie told nine.com.au Dupras had asked her sister, fellow Olympic gold medallist Jess Fox, for her blessing before the proposal.
“My partner had only asked for permission from Jess, not my dad or my parents. But it’s quite fitting and beautiful,” she said.
”I saw [the proposal] coming a mile away. But it doesn’t take away the fact it’s such a beautiful moment we shared together.

“We’ve been together for nearly nine years.”
She gushed about wedding plans, revealing the couple want to tie the knot in the French countryside.
”We’ve got it all planned down pat in France, next October in the south of France,” she added.
“I’m from Marseille, he’s from Lyon, so meeting halfway in between.”

The pair are fitting the wedding in between the 2028 Olympics in LA, where both Noemie and Jess will try to defend their titles.
“After the wedding, LA is full speed ahead, even as we speak,” she said.
“There’s a series of qualifications starting from next June, so it’s wedding planning, but also performance and sport at the same time.
“I think I’ve always dealt with a lot of things at the same time. It’s kind of how I thrive, but this year’s been a bit… a lot.
“Now I’m starting to be a bit more selective about what I do and how I want to spend my time.”
Noemie won her first Olympic gold medal in the Kayak Cross event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
It was the first time the event had ever taken place at the Olympics, making her the first-ever Olympic champion in that event.
After she won, Jess and Dupras both jumped into the water to hug her and celebrate the win.
The pair are private, but it seems Dupras was willing to move across the world just to be with Noémie.

An athlete himself, Dupras started out on the French Canoe Slalom national team before moving into a coaching role with the French International Canoe Federation (ICF) in 2018.
Originally, they were in a long-distance relationship, as Dupras was based in Europe while Noémie’s home was in Australia, but coaching eventually brought him Down Under.
He coached the Canadian and Moroccan Canoe Slalom teams before making the big move to Australia in 2021, where he joined the Australian Canoe Slalom coaching team – and got to be closer to Noémie.
