Police have linked two north Queensland homes to the “suspicious disappearance” of a 71-year-old First Nations man.

Mackay man Wayne Pedro Morseu was declared missing to authorities on November 10.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the disappearance had been described to them as “out of character” and that family members held “significant concerns” for Mr Morseu’s welfare.

Yesterday afternoon, investigations at two Mackay addresses led police to believe the 71-year-old’s vanishing was suspicious.

Officers arrived at a River Street home about 11am and remained there through the day and overnight.

A crime scene was declared at the property, and at a Griffin Street address following police investigations.

Officers remain at the properties as investigations continue.

Anyone with knowledge of Mr Morseu’s whereabouts or information about his disappearance is urged to contact police.

The man is described as having a slim build, grey hair and brown eyes.
