Everybody Loves Raymond is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed family sitcoms of all time.

The show was inspired by comedian Ray Romano’s own family experiences. It follows his character Ray’s day-to-day life as a husband and father of three, whose interfering parents and hapless brother live across the road.

The show ran from 1996 to 2005, notching up 210 episodes over nine seasons and turning its cast into household names.

Considering how long the show ran and how popular it was, the cast would’ve been raking in big bucks.

Read on to see just how much the stars of the show made and what their wealth is today.

Madylin Sweeten as Alexandra “Ally” Barone: $5 million

Alexandra “Ally” Barone is Ray and Debra’s eldest child and only daughter.

She appeared throughout the entire series.

Sawyer and Sullivan Sweeten as Geoffrey and Michael Barone: Unknown

Twins Geoffrey and Michael provided the cuteness throughout the entire show’s run, though in the pilot episode their names are Gregory and Matthew.

The net worth of both Sawyer and Sullivan Sweeten is unknown.

Sullivan Sweeten appears to have stepped away from the spotlight, with his last acting role in 2017 and no recent public social media presence.

Sadly, twin brother Sawyer died in 2015 at the age of 19.

Sister and co-star Madylin and Sullivan came together to honour Sawyer’s life with Sawyer’s Playhouse, a space at the Loft Ensemble theatre company where smaller casts and new voices can develop their work.

The Everybody Loves Raymond cast also took a moment to remember Sawyer during a TV reunion in November 2025.

Doris Roberts as Marie Barone: $14 million

Marie, played by the late Doris Roberts, continued to dote on her favourite son Raymond, even after he married and moved away – well, across the street.

She had a stereotypical mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship with Debra, leading to some of the show’s funniest moments and scenarios.

The actress died at the age of 90 in 2016 after an extensive career in TV, film and on the stage which began in 1951.

She worked steadily for decades before finding fame on the TV show Remington Steele in 1983.

But when she was cast as Ray’s mother in Everybody Loves Raymond, Roberts became an even bigger star and a household name.

Roberts was paid $250,000 per episode of Raymond, which adds up to about $5 million a year.

Her estimated net worth added up to $14 million.

Peter Boyle as Francis “Frank” Barone: $8 million

Ray’s father Frank was known for being curmudgeonly, outspoken and a little uncouth but ultimately loving.

Late star Peter Boyle’s career began in theatre in 1961 before moving to screen with the 1970 film Joe.

Boyle appeared in a slew of critically acclaimed and popular films in the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s.

After winning an Emmy award for a guest role in The X-Files he then landed his career-defining and final role as Frank Barone in Raymond.

Like Roberts, it is believed he made $250,000 an episode. His estimated net worth was $8 million.

He died in 2006 at the age of 71 from cancer and heart disease.

Monica Horan as Amy MacDougall-Barone: $20 million

Monica Horan played Robert’s girlfriend and wife Amy MacDougall-Barone in the series.

She appeared in various episodes from seasons one to seven and became a regular cast member for seasons eight and nine.

The actress has an estimated net worth of $20 million – a fortune that comes from her succesful career as an actress.

While Everybody Loves Raymond is her best known project, she also had a recurring role on The Bold and the Beautiful and has featured in the hit series Coach, L.A. Law and Hot in Cleveland.

She is married to Everybody Loves Raymond creator, writer and producer Phil Rosenthal.

Brad Garrett as Robert Barone: $50 million

Robert Barone lived in the shadow of his successful brother Raymond, especially according to his mother.

Brad Garrett had been steadily working in Hollywood as a voice artist, comedian and actor before finding fame with the role of Robert.

He was making $160,000 per episode until he found out co-star Ray Romano’s salary was increased to $1.8 million per episode ahead of Season 8.

Garrett protested, calling in “sick” which led to him being written out of one episode. His protest quickly escalated with co-stars Patricia Heaton, Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts joining the strike in solidarity, resulting in production stopping for weeks.

The salary strike resulted in a pay increase plus a stake in back-end profits for all of them, which means they also make money from the show’s continued syndication to this day.

Despite the smaller salary on the show, Garrett was making $4 million a year before his pay rise.

His estimated net worth sits at $50 million.

Patricia Heaton as Debra Barone: $40 million

Raymond’s wife and mother of Ali, Geoffrey and Michael, Debra balanced out the hilarious antics of her family with her more straightforward personality and view of the world, leading to hilarious one-liners and heartwarming moments.

When Patricia Heaton was on Raymond, she was one of the highest-paid actresses on TV at the time.

So when you consider she was eventually paid $450,000 per episode compared to Ray Romano’s eventual $1.8 million you can see why the pay disparity issue has flared up in Hollywood in more recent years.

Still, Heaton was earning $9 to $10 million per year in the final seasons of Raymond.

She went on to more sitcom success in the series The Middle. Though not as big a hit as Raymond, she made an estimated $250,000 an episode on that show.

Her estimated net worth is $40 million.

Ray Romano as Ray Barone: $200 million

The husband, father, son and brother at the centre of the whole show, Ray is a nice guy, a little neurotic and a bit weak when it comes to dealings with his mother.

As the star and one of the writers on the show based around his life, it may come as no surprise that Romano’s net worth is estimated to be $200 million.

Only his salary from season five has been reported, so we know he was paid $800,000 an episode up until the final two seasons.

At that point, he had made $57 million just from seasons five, six and seven.

In season eight, his pay was raised to the controversial $1.8 million an episode that led to co-star Garrett’s strike.

Ray Romano: $200 millionHe still profits off the success of Everybody Loves Raymond. (WireImage)

This salary increase made Romano the highest-paid TV actor of all time until Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon were paid $2 million an episode for The Morning Show from 2019 (unless you adjust Romano’s salary for inflation, that is).

Romano also continues to profit from the syndication of Raymond in the years since it ended.

In addition to his estimated $155 million in profits just from Raymond, he continues to star in film and TV projects, including the box office sensation Ice Age and its sequels.
