Rugby Europe, the governing body responsible for the promotion and administration of rugby across 47 countries in Europe, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Referees Manager to lead and coordinate the development, performance, and appointments of match officials across all Rugby Europe competitions.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the quality and integrity of rugby in Europe by overseeing the training, assessment, and selection of referees and performance reviewers across both the 15s and 7s formats of the game.
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Appointments & Coordination
 Assign match officials (referees, ARs, TMOs) for:
Rugby Europe Championship (REC)
Rugby Europe Super Cup, Trophy, U18 & U20 Championships
Conference competitions and other RE-approved events
Appoint referees and collaborate with domestic referee managers for 7s tournaments
 Appoint performance reviewers for all 15s and 7s competitions
Development & Performance
Lead performance reviews of all 15s matches remotely
Attend and oversee U18/U20 Championships and 7s tournaments
Provide consistent feedback on referee performance to all domestic Referee Managers
 Maintain regular contact with team coaches to discuss officiating standards and observations
Education & Workshops
Organise annual pre-season camps for match officials by category
Conduct online workshops on guidelines and performance topics
Facilitate workshops with performance reviewers and coordinate calls with team coaches
Liaison & Strategy
Collaborate closely with:
World Rugby (Men’s and Women’s Referee Managers)
EPCR Referees Manager
 Rugby Europe’s Communications and Competitions Departments
Prepare and manage the annual refereeing budget
Lead regular calls with referee managers and performance reviewers
Profile we’re Looking For
 Proven experience in elite rugby officiating or match official development
 Strong understanding of international rugby structures and competitions
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cultures and time zones
 Fluency in English; additional European languages are an asset
