MyWhoosh, the free-to-use virtual cycling app, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, has launched its new team-based structured racing series, the MyWhoosh Cycling Esports League.
Season 1 of the series will begin on December 2, 2025, and will run for eight weeks, offering virtual bike racing across multiple international time zones. The league allows riders to compete individually or as part of a team, with full league tables available for both individual and team divisions.
The league is powered by MyWhoosh’s Auto Categorisation system, designed to place riders accurately within their respective performance tiers. It also uses the ‘MyWhoosh Police Drone’ system. This aims to create an equitable racing environment and enhance the competitive experience.
Over the eight weekly rounds, riders will take part in a variety of formats contributing to the overall league standings, such as Scratch Race, Points Race, and Individual Time Trials.
Update 5.5.0
Alongside the launch of the racing league, MyWhoosh is releasing Update 5.5.0, introducing several new features and platform enhancements.
This update includes an exclusive 30-day Season Pass featuring the new Bhutan world, which transports riders through a virtual representation of the country’s landscapes. The Season Pass also allows riders to unlock exclusive in-game gravel gear and the Colnago Y1RS virtual bike.
The update introduces advancements to racing realism with wind and drafting dynamics. Select events will now feature dynamic wind effects, designed to emphasise positioning, drafting, timing, and pack awareness. The drafting user interface has also been updated with intuitive arrow indicators.
Additional updates include:
Workout Report: A new report provides more detailed performance metrics and actionable insights.
MyBunch Improvements: The MyBunch feature has been refined to deliver a smoother group riding experience with improved pack dynamics.
Late Join access: When enabled by event organisers, riders can now join social rides after they begin, with the system automatically placing riders within the group for seamless entry.
All results, standings, and updates for the new MyWhoosh Cycling Esports League will be accessible on mywhooshinfo.com.
