Minister for Industries T.G. Bharat on Sunday (November 30, 2025) launched a mass cycling drive as part of a campaign against drugs titled “drugs vaddu bro — cycle thokku bro” (say no to drugs, yes to cycle, brother). The event organised by the EAGLE teams and the Police Department drew students, youth groups, and residents, as the Minister led the rally while raising anti-drug slogans.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bharat said that the government is intensifying efforts to curb drug use and trafficking in the State. He reiterated that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has strengthened enforcement by launching the EAGLE task force and deploying senior officers to crack down on the narcotics networks across the State and to coordinate with the neighbouring States.

The Minister said that the administration is pushing for wide public awareness on the dangers of drugs and urged the citizens to share any information related to illegal drug activity with the authorities. “All necessary measures are in place in Kurnool district to control the menace,” he said, appealing to the youth to adopt daily exercise and fitness routines to safeguard their health.
