An 18-year-old man has been rushed to hospital by helicopter with head injuries after falling from the roof of a moving car on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Another 18-year old who was allegedly driving faces multiple charges over the accident at St Andrew’s Beach.

Police say five 18-year-old boys were in the Holden Cruze about 6.50pm yesterday, and another two were on top.

One of the men slid off the car in a car park on Paradise Road.

Ambulance Victoria said the man was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital with upper body injuries in a critical condition.

The alleged driver, from Glen Waverley, has been charged with drive in a manner dangerous causing serious injury, reckless conduct endanger life, reckless conduct endanger serious injury, drive in a manner dangerous and careless driving.

He was bailed to appear before Dromana Magistrates’ Court on January 22, 2026.
