Wilfried Nancy is seemingly Celtic-bound and will arrive just before the January transfer window opens.
Nancy’s arrival is imminent but Martin O’Neill hinted that the Bhoys may have to wait a little longer for the Frenchman due to the relevant paperwork not being finalised.
The Columbus Crew manager has recruited efficiently to transform the MLS side into one of the most entertaining sides in the division.
Steven Caldwell knows the league and manager well, and has named a group of players that could find their way to Celtic Park under Nancy’s stewardship.
Poll: Which position do Celtic need to strengthen in the 2026 January transfer window? Steven Caldwell on potential Celtic signings
Speaking to The Herald, Caldwell was able to provide his expertise on the MLS and the potential players that could come to the club, covering all sorts of positions.
Sean Zawadzki, Cucho Hernandez, Diego Rossi and Jacen Russell-Rowe were the quartet named, with all of them providing quality in the attack.
He said: “There is one player I really like who plays for Columbus Crew called Sean Zawadzki. He did well through college, came into the league and I think he is a very interesting player. A centre mid/sweeper in this three at the back and he can kind of play anywhere. He has a bit of pace and has yet to fill out even more, but he is a good footballer and I think he’d be very decent in Scotland.

“Cucho Hernandez, the Colombian forward, who played with Wilfred at Columbus is at Real Betis now and he could play in the SPFL easily. He’s a top player.
“I know Celtic have already been linked with Diego Rossi, who is a player, and there is another young Canadian player at Columbus called Jacen Russell-Rowe who I really like.
“Wilfried will be cautious of that because he might want to distance himself from MLS a bit because ultimately he is French. You would think he might want to look in that market a little more.”
