How To Watch Saracens vs. Clermont Rugby Free Stream

The first Saturday of Investec Champions Cup action begins with an epic showdown as one of the most dominant clubs of this century, Saracens, hosts one of France’s most consistent winners, Clermont, in Round 1 of pool play.

Playing in what now looks like one of the most challenging pools in the competition — one that features Toulouse, the Hollywoodbets Sharks, Glasgow Warriors and the Sale Sharks — both clubs are trying to avoid missing the Champions Cup knockout stage.

The Saracens are the last Gallagher PREM Rugby club to win the Champions Cup back-to-back and feature a lineup loaded with English internationals coming off one of the best England seasons in years. That includes three current or former England captains in Maro Itoje, Jamie George and Owen Farrell. But with all the experience, it’s 19-year-old Noah Caluori who may have the biggest impact on the match.

Meanwhile, Clermont may finally have its international players back, like Argentina star Marcos Kremer. While the Saracens have enjoyed a successful season in PREM play with a 3-0-3 record — and were second on the table before losing to Bath 36-29 a week before the start of ICC play — Clermont’s Top 14 season has been a quagmire for a club used to making the Top 14 postseason. Clermont is 6-0-5 and ninth on the table but enters the first round after surviving Stade Français at home, 36-32.
