That’s according to a report from Boxing Scene, which claims “Rowdy” is currently in “active negotiations” with two-time undisputed boxing champion Katie Taylor. The proposed bout has also “drawn the interest of Netflix,” which continues its infatuation with bizarre boxing bouts.
Rousey rose to fame as the UFC women’s bantamweight champion, destroying her first six opponents inside the Octagon. Unfortunately for “Rowdy,” her hype train crashed and burned when she was paired against superior strikers in the form of Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.
What the 38 year-old judoka hopes to bring against a seasoned pro like Taylor (25-1, 6 KOs) is a mystery, especially when you consider that Rousey has not competed in nearly nine years. Nevertheless, her UFC legacy (and WWE run) will likely be enough to command a sizable audience if and when this bout lands in Las Vegas in summer 2026.
