The Cricket NSW Big Bash clubs are proud to introduce a major step forward in youth development with both the Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder launching T20‑focused Youth Academies, powered by a new partnership with Century Cricket.

These initiatives provide aspiring cricketers across Sydney with an elite, accessible pathway to learn, grow, and compete. 

Expanding on popular community holiday programs, the Academy consists of three distinct streams:  

T20 Youth Camps – Multi-day holiday clinics that immerse players in the club’s coaching and build core T20 skills.  

T20 Development Academy – A term-based program focused on further developing technical and tactical T20 skills. Entry is via application only.  

T20 Matchplay – A chance for Academy participants to showcase their skills in competitive matchplay, culminating in an end-of-year clash between the Sixers and Thunder T20 Development Youth Academies. 

Participants will train at first‑class venues across Greater Sydney – with Sixers’ hubs reaching from the Eastern Suburbs to the Northern Beaches, and Thunder’s rooted in Western Sydney and Campbelltown. 

Every enrolment receives an exclusive training kit from partner brand New Balance (shirt, shorts, cap), underlining the professional feel and pride of being part of an Academy squad. 

The Academy is designed to support and complement existing club, representative and association structures, while providing specific opportunities for aspirational players to gain access to top T20 coaching and development. 

Registrations for the upcoming December and January T20 Youth Camps are now open, with Term 1 Academy programs kicking off from February 2026.
