Tuesday, V-Teck Communications celebrates 38 years of serving Logan County and the surrounding area.

It all started on a cold, snowy day in 1987 when Lou Vito became President and went live on air with 98.3 WPKO and AM 1390 WBLL.

From the beginning, Vito and his team focused on the company’s motto: “Better communications for a better community.”

They’ve delivered local news, weather, contests, birthdays and anniversaries, sports coverage, the Shopping Show, and more ever since.

Back then, only two radio signals were available.

Today, V-Teck Communications has grown to four radio stations, two websites, three social media pages, and a TV outlet.

Listeners can tune in on the radio, on their phones, smart speakers, or online.

Lou Vito says radio is now “just one part of how we connect with the community,” and he could never have imagined all the ways people can listen and watch today.
