However, her love of cold-water plunges wasn’t shared with William until recently. During a November 2025 visit to North Wales, where the royal couple lived during the first two years of their marriage, he admitted that he now has an appreciation and love for one of his wife’s favorite hobbies.
He met with members of the Marine Conservation Society’s Youth Ocean Network in Colwyn Bay and also spent time with the area’s cold-water swimming group. “You feel great afterwards,” William said of his wife’s favorite activity, according to Daily Mail.
“I love it. I do a lot of yelling and screaming when I get in,” he joked.
Kate Middleton and Prince William Encourage Family Exercise
The Prince and Princess of Wales have always shared an active lifestyle. They’ve passed that passion on to their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
According to The Daily Mirror, Kate discussed how she encourages family exercise during a 2023 reception for the England Wheelchair Rugby League squad. She revealed that her children jump on the trampoline before school, and when she is able, she joins them.
“We’re always slightly competitive with each other. They all love sport, and Louis is mad about rugby,” she added. “They are at an age where they just love running around.”
In 2020, Kate admitted during an interview on the “Happy Mum Happy Baby” podcast that her favorite family moments take place when she and her clan are outside. “I’m happy when I’m with my family outside in the countryside, and we’re all filthy dirty.”
“Doing the simple things, going for a walk together, and that’s really what I try and do with my children as well. Because it totally strips away all the complications, all the pressures.”
