This latest victory continues a remarkable period for the world No. 1 side, who reached the UEFA Women’s EURO final earlier this year and have now added a third major title of the campaign, following their World Cup triumph in 2023, inaugural Nations League victory in 2024, and their dominant run through this year’s group stage and knockout rounds.
Spain reached the final by topping a group with England, Portugal and Belgium, winning five of their six games, before beating Sweden 5–0 on aggregate in the semi-finals.
Germany advanced after winning a group featuring the Netherlands, Austria and Scotland, then overcoming France 3–2 over two legs in their semi-final.
