EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders waved goodbye to two Walford residents tonight (Tuesday, 2 December) as Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) left the Square and headed to Australia.
In recent weeks viewers have seen the two birdwatchers finally admit their real feelings for each other after Zoe Slater did a little bit of matchmaking during one of The Vic’s quiz nights.
Anna had already been planning on taking a big trip to Australia and soon Freddie was packing his bags to go with her, after feeling there was little left for him on the Square.
But before they could head off on their adventure, both were faced with some family drama as their leaving party took place at The Vic.

For Freddie, tensions were running high among The Slaters after someone had written ‘DIE’ in lights on their living room window in another message to Zoe.
Zoe accused Tommy of being behind the stunt but Lily soon realised it was Jean. While Jean confessed to being behind the lights, she was adamant she was not responsible for any of the other creepy messages Zoe had been receiving.
Kat tried to get the family together and persuade Zoe to stop accusing people of being behind the stunts, however Zoe decided to move out, feeling her own family were against her.
While Lily tried to get her grandmother to own up to the lights Jean refused, saying she was just happy Zoe was gone.
Meanwhile, Anna still hadn’t made up with her sister Gina who didn’t approve of her decision to go travelling with Freddie and she was also concerned that her uncle Kojo was feeling lonely with Harry no longer around.

Anna went round to Harry’s and told him Gina still has feelings for him and that Kojo needed him as a friend but she was informed by Nicola that her dad George was the one she really needed to speak to.
Back at The Vic, Anna took her dad aside and explained that, although Harry did put Kojo in a dangerous situation, it was all over now and Kojo needed him back as a friend and George needed to forgive Harry.
Anna also managed to repair things with Gina just in time, with her sister giving her blessing for Anna to leave with Freddie.
The episode ended with Freddie and Anna in their cork hats exiting Albert Square hand-in-hand as their friends and family waved them off.
Did Anna manage to do enough to convince George to allow Harry back into his family’s life? And how will Jean cope now having lost Freddie so soon after Stacey’s exit?
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
