Laura Woods collapsed during ITV’s live buildup to England’s final match of 2025 against Ghana, with the 38‑year‑old presenter revealing later that she had “probably” been battling a virus, and thanking the pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante for catching her as she fell.

Woods was leading ITV’s coverage of the friendly at St Mary’s and was pitchside with Wright and Asante when the incident happened. The camera immediately cut away and there was an advert break. When coverage of the game resumed, Woods’s fellow presenter Katie Shanahan had stepped in to replace her, confirming Woods was unwell.

“Gosh that was a bit weird,” Woods later posted on Instagram. “Sorry to worry everyone, i’m ok, the wonderful paramedics at Saints have said its probably a virus, just need a bit of rest & hydration. I’m really embarrassed that happened on tv, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight. And to Wright & Neets for catching me and sorry again.”

Woods, who also presents TNT Sport’s coverage of the Champions League, was trending on social media following the incident
