IRVING – The UNT women’s golf program won an American Team Academic Excellence Award and more than 200 Mean Green student-athletes earned AAC All-Academic honors for the 2024-25 year, the league announced on Wednesday.
Mean Green Women’s Golf claimed the Academic Excellence Award for having the highest team GPAÂ in the conference in its respective sport.Â
The American Team Academic Excellence Award selections are made by the conference’s faculty athletics representatives. The winning teams were chosen based on the 2024-25 GPA of each student-athlete who appeared on an institution’s roster at the end of the academic year, weighing each student’s GPA by credit-hour completed. The women’s golf program posted a 3.941 for the 2024-25 school year.
A total of 209 Mean Green student-athletes earned All-Academic nods. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a nominee must have attained a minimum GPA of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
