MIRI (Dec 4): The Society of English Writers Northern Zone (Soswe) hosted a thought-provoking and engaging talk on mental and physical health at the Tegas Digital Innovation Hub in Times Square here recently.
The one-hour session featured former Miri Hospital director Dr Uma Devi as the main speaker.
During the talk, Dr Uma, a prominent expert in the field of health and wellness, shared valuable insights into the intricate relationship between mental well-being and physical health.
Her presentation covered key topics such as stress management, emotional resilience, and the development of healthier lifestyle habits.
A diverse group of participants attended the session, including two international guests from Japan, underscoring the growing international interest in mental health and wellness.
According to a press release from the organiser, the presence of foreign participants highlighted the expanding influence of Soswe and its commitment to global dialogue on important societal issues.
Soswe president Karambir Singh expressed his gratitude during the closing segment of the event, during which he presented Dr Uma with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of her valuable contribution to the community.
He also acknowledged the support of the Tegas Digital Innovation Hub for providing a venue that fosters educational and empowerment initiatives.
“This event reaffirms our ongoing commitment to promoting education, dialogue, and personal development for both our members and the broader public,” he added.
The event marked another successful initiative in Soswe’s ongoing mission to promote learning and personal development through various community outreach efforts.
