RELMS, France- McNeese women’s tennis sophomore Salome Fluri has been selected to represent Switzerland at the upcoming Master’U BNP Paribas Championships in Relma, France scheduled for December 5-7. This is the second consecutive year Fluri will take part in the championship.
In its 18th year, the Master’U BNP Paribas Championships is the world event of university tennis and features an eight-nation field.
At total of 34 current and former NCAA student-athletes will represent eight nations. The nations include Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Switzerland, and the United State. Each nation has players who are actively competing within their university.
These players will all be representing their country in a unique format of play where there will be two women’s singles matches, two men’s singles matches, one men’s doubles match, and one mixed doubles match. The country that wins four of these seven matches is declared the winner and advances in the tournament.
