Yesterday felt like the Ashes Test series properly began.
A proper day of cricket that went this way and that over the course of several hours.

Hello folks and welcome to the second day of the second Ashes Test live from the Gabba in Brisbane.
Another glorious day in the Sunshine State, a tad warmer out than yesterday but overall pretty pleasant for this time of year, barely a cloud in the sky and the sun beating down on the Gabba surface.
My name is Simon Smale, Jon Healy and Dean Bilton are alongside me in the media box, with Chris De Silva and Henry Hanson also about the traps to bring you all the action as it happens.
Yesterday was a cracker of a day of Test cricket, batters applying themselves, bowlers toiling a bit with the odd blast of exceptionalism, plus some sensational fielding from Alex Carey.
We’re all set for the action to continue apace, so let’s get on with it shall we?
