Queen Mary of Denmark was rushed inside during a royal engagement on Monday after experiencing pain in her leg. The Queen and King Frederik had returned to royal duties earlier this week, with the royal stepping out in Grasten with her husband and their children.
As she mingled amogst the crowds, the Queen was then spotted suddenly grabbing her leg. As she appeared to bend over in pain, the King and their children were seen gathered around the 53-year-old.
Queen Mary was then rushed into Grasten Town Hall before she returned to continue the royal engagement.
It has since been reported that the pain was caused by a wasp sting.
Much like the British Royal Family, the Danish royals typically spend several weeks during their summer at their residence in Grasten.
The royal couple were joined by their children, Princess Isabella, 18, and Prince Vincent, 14, on Monday. The couple also have two other children who will join them for the summer at a later date – Crown Prince Christian, 19, and Princess Josephine, who is Vincent’s twin sister.
The King and Queen of Denmark have not been seen publicly since early July – with Queen Margrethe and Crown Prince Christian stepping in as regents.
The couple also have two other children who will join them at a later date – Crown Prince Christian, 19, and Princess Josephine, who is Vincent’s twin sister.
It has previously been reported that Queen Mary and King Frederik spent time at their French abode, Château de Cayx, in Cahors, southern France, according to Danish magazine HER & Nu.
The couple were there with their two youngest children, twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
