Celine Dion – Slammed Use of Her Song

In 2024, Celine Dion‘s team reacted to her song “My Heart Will Go On,” the Titanic theme song, being played at a Trump campaign rally, noting she did not give permission and the use was unauthorized.

In a statement on her Instagram page, her team wrote, “Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana. In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use.…And really, THAT song?”

In 2020, Brandon Urie posted the following: “Dear Trump Campaign, f–k you. You’re not invited. Stop playing my song. No thanks, Brendon Urie, Panic! At The Disco & company,” he wrote upon being notified that his song, “High Hopes,” was being used by Trump at a rally.

“Dear Everyone Else, Donald Trump represents nothing we stand for. The highest hope we have is voting this monster out in November. Please do your part,” he added with a link to HeadCount.org.
