Washington | President Donald Trump granted Nvidia permission to ship its H200 artificial intelligence chip to China in exchange for a 25 per cent surcharge, a move that lets the world’s most valuable company potentially regain billions of dollars in lost business from a key global market.
Trump said he had informed Chinese President Xi Jinping about the move, which caps weeks of deliberations among US advisers about whether to allow H200 exports to China.
