Kmart has recalled Bluey, Paw Patrol and Frozen 2-themed toy sets due to asbestos fears.
The three sensory activity sets from HL Toys International were sold at Kmart in stores and online between October 8 and November 16.
The sets contain multiple craft and play components including a sealed sachet of coloured sand, scented dough, markers, and character figurines.Â
Families should stop using the products immediately and contact Kmart with proof of purchase for a full refund. (Product Safety Australia)
All sets contain a sealed tub of coloured sand.
“The product is being recalled because the sand may contain asbestos, which is a prohibited substance in Australia,” the recall notice said.
“The sand in the products may cause a risk to health as asbestos has been detected in some samples after laboratory testing. Importantly, respirable asbestos has not been detected in any of the tested samples.Â

“The release of respirable asbestos fibres is unlikely to occur in its current state, unless the sand is processed by mechanical means such as crushing or pulverising.Â
“The risk that any asbestos found is likely to be airborne or fine enough for inhalation is low.”

“Do not open the sand tub,” the recall notice said.
“If the tub has been removed from the box, place it in a sealed plastic bag.”

“Do not place the product in household waste.”
