A King’s Counsel, his junior counsel and their instructing solicitor have been referred to state legal professional disciplinary bodies for further investigation after artificial intelligence “hallucinations” were found in their court submissions, and because they did not adequately explain how they occurred.

The instructing solicitor, who blamed and later sacked her paralegal for the incident, was also ordered to pay $10,000 to the opposing party for costs incurred correcting the errors generated by AI.
