A Sydney lawyer who narrowly avoided death in a gangland shooting earlier this year has been charged with drug importation offences.
Solicitor Sylvan Singh, 26, is due to face a Sydney bail court on Wednesday morning after being arrested on Tuesday and charged with four counts of attempting to import a commercial quantity of drugs.
Mr Singh was one of several people shot at inside a ute at Church Street, Granville on May 25.
The criminal lawyer was in the car at the time but survived after sustaining non-life threatening injured.
Crime figure Dawood Zakaria, 32, died after being shot in the attack later in hospital.
Police have since said they believe the target was former Alameddine crime family associate Samimjan Azari, who also survived the attack.
The ABC attempted to contact Mr Singh through his law firm at the time but he was unable to be reached.
