Marco Reus has spoken about LA Galaxy making a shock signing from Manchester United, but the England international wouldn’t be the first player to sign for both clubs.
Many high-profile former Manchester United players have played in the MLS, or the NASL as it was previously known.
The moves often come at the latter stages of a player’s professional career, although that has not always been the case.
United and Northern Ireland legend George Best played in the NASL for the Los Angeles Aztecs and San Jose Earthquakes in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Meanwhile, Tim Howard and Jonathan Spector played in the US before moving to United. They both returned to their homeland at the latter stages of their careers.
Other ex-United players to move to the US at some point in their careers include Wayne Rooney and Nani.

After 12 years at Borussia Dortmund, Marco Reus left Germany to sign for LA Galaxy.
Reus collected an MLS Cup in his first American season, helping his side to victory over the New York Red Bulls. It was the club’s first MLS Cup triumph since 2014.
After failing to achieve those heights this season, Reus has been asked which foreign players he would like to share the LA Galaxy dressing room with.
Reus selects Jadon Sancho as one of his three, who include Robert Lewandowski and Lucas Pizcheck. The German winger played with all three players during his time at Dortmund.
“Then I will bring Jadon Sancho,” Reus said on an official LA Galaxy podcast.
“He is a special guy. Most people don’t understand how good he is.”
Sancho, who has been on loan at Aston Villa, is expected to leave Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of the season.
That means LA Galaxy and other clubs will have the opportunity to approach Sancho. It would come down to whether any club is willing to meet his salary demands.

Sancho has not got the minutes that he might have hoped for in his loan at Villa.
What other Man Utd players signed for LA Galaxy?
Sir David Beckham moved to the MLS in 2007 when he signed for LA Galaxy.
Beckham became the first former United player to sign for Galaxy, but the list has since grown.
Javier Hernandez joined the Galaxy in 2020 as a star player and reliable goalscorer.
Sancho could become the next to join that list if he joins the Galaxy after leaving United.
