While some games were postponed due to weather conditions, a handful of Mid-Michigan high school teams hit the court on Tuesday night.

Here are the scores from Tuesday’s action:

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MT. PLEASANT 39, ALMA 35: In a season opener for both teams, the Oilers were able to pull out a close win over Alma. The Panthers trailed by just eight after the first two quarters, but came just shy of the comeback.

Savannah Beery and Payton Penner each scored seven points in the loss.

BOYS BASKETBALL

MT PLEASANT 65, ALMA 49: Mt. Pleasant boys grabbed its second win on the season thanks to a strong third quarter. The Panthers held a four-point lead at half, 27-23. Early in the third quarter, Alma held its largest lead of the game, up eight, halfway through the period. Mt. Pleasant then went on a 16-2 run to end the third, and outscored Alma 23-13 in the fourth to win.

Mt. Pleasant had four different players end with double figures. Xavier Creguer and Jake Hutchins scored 17 points. The Oilers now move to 2-1 on the season.

Alma’s Koby Shunk led the team with 18 points. The Panthers fall to 1-1 on the year.

MONTABELLA 64, ITHACA 45: Montabella starts the season 25-26 campaign 2-0 after defeating Ithaca. The Mustangs held a 32-29 lead after the first two quarters, and extended it in the third quarter. In the period, Montabella outscored Ithaca 26-4, led by Mason Bogart’s 13 points.

Bogart led all scorers with 20 points, making five three-pointers. Noah Carlson poured in 12 points.

Ithaca was led by Jaxon Whitmore with a team-high 11 points. The Yellowjackets drop to 0-3 on the year.
