Bristol began its Champions Cup campaign with a narrow 17–16 victory over the Scarlets. The Bears held the lead for the entire first half after notching 12 early points. The Scarlets began to close the gap, and two penalty goals in the second half briefly pushed them ahead. Bristol answered with a try in the 54th minute, securing the win.

Pau also played a tight match against Northampton, but they weren’t as fortunate. After a back-and-forth contest, the score sat at 27–27 in the 63rd minute. A late try and penalty goal by Northampton ultimately sealed Pau’s fate.

Both teams have the tools to take the win in their upcoming meeting, it all comes down to discipline and execution. With momentum on the line, this matchup is shaping up to be a pivotal early test for both sides.
