AWARD-WINNING motorsport photographer, journalist and all-round media man Mark Walker is the latest addition to the V8 Sleuth team.

Walker is a three-time V8 Media Association award winner. He claimed the award for V8 PR Representative of the Year in 2014 and photography awards in 2014 and 2019.

The Queensland-bred and now Melbourne-based Walker is a long-time member of the Australian motorsport media family.

As comfortable behind the camera as behind the keyboard, Walker is now full-time in the V8 Sleuth offices in Melbourne, contributing a range of content to the brand’s award-winning website and social media platforms.

For the last 15 years, he’s worked as Account Director for Melbourne-based Media and Communication Services and directed motorsport accounts during that time, including Jack Daniel’s Racing, Nissan Motorsport, the Caltex Young Stars, Tekno Autosports, Craig Lowndes, Marcos Ambrose, Will Davison, James Moffat, the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championship and the Australian Formula Ford Championship.

His deep-dive stories on Australian motorsport and its history have been a banner head feature of The Race Torque website over previous years, and he’s already brought great content to V8 Sleuth readers in recent weeks, including outlining planned new motorsport facilities in Queensland and Western Australia.

“It was a no-brainer to bring Mark into the fold on a permanent basis after knowing him for the best part of 25 years,” says V8 Sleuth publisher Aaron Noonan.

“He’s been helping us already this year and it made total sense to just extend that into a full-time position with our team.

“He’s a rare kind of media operator in the best way possible that can both take great photos but then also put into words what they mean with topical, well-crafted and entertaining prose.

“I’m thrilled to have him on board as our business takes the next step through 2025 and into 2026.”

“It’s a genuine thrill to join the V8 Sleuth family,” said Walker.

“The motorsport knowledge held within the business is just incredible, while the collection of historic Australian motorsport assets Aaron has collected over the decades is seriously impressive.

“I can’t wait to get stuck in!”
