The Toyota bZ4X has received extensive tweaks under the skin for 2026, gaining more power and longer range while also getting more standard equipment – but for a lower price than before.
The entry-level single-motor front-wheel drive version of Toyota Australia’s first electric vehicle (EV) is now priced at $55,990 before on-road costs, a reduction of $10,010, while the dual-motor all-wheel drive flagship now costs $67,990 plus on-roads – down $6910. The updated mid-size electric SUV range is now on sale.
Toyota’s move follows recent price cuts by Subaru for its updated Solterra, the bZ4X’s twin, of between $6000 and $7000.
Both FWD and AWD variants of the bZ4X get a new 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery and more powerful electric motors.

The base FWD variant produces 15kW more power, 2.6Nm more torque and offers 155km more range on the WLTP cycle, while the AWD has received bumps of 92kW, 101Nm and 106km.
All bZ4Xs continue to offer a maximum DC fast-charge rate of 150kW, but their peak AC charging rate has been doubled to 22kW.
Toyota is offering private buyers the choice of a free 7kW Jet Charge home charger or a one-year/625kWh Chargefox voucher between now and the end of 2026 through the Toyota Go loyalty program.
The company is also offering a “limited-time deposit contribution” of $5000 for the bZ4X 2WD and $7500 for the AWD, for private customers who choose to finance their bZ4X through Toyota Finance Australia.

In addition to more power and torque from the electric motors and greater range from a new battery, the updated bZ4X has vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability via a 220V/1500W AC inverter. This allows you to power appliances using the vehicle.

Toyota Australia backs the bZ4X with its five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. Service and maintain per the vehicle’s warranty and service book and the electric motors’ coverage will be bumped up to seven years and unlimited kilometres, while battery coverage can be extended to up to 10 years.
The company has yet to announce capped-price servicing details for the updated bZ4X.
