Black Panther star Letitia Wright, who starred in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame before taking up the Black Panther mantle in Wakanda Forever, has confirmed that she will feature in Avengers: Secret Wars. That’s not the one due for release next year, but the one due the year after.
It’s an easy mistake to make, as Shuri actor Wright did herself in a new interview promoting her directorial debut, Highway to the Moon.
Speaking to ScreenRant, the star was asked about the status of a third Black Panther film, where she said: “I have no clue. All I know is that we just finished Secret Wars, and that was really great.”
“Doomsday, sorry,” she quickly corrected herself. “I confuse the two. I confused the two.
“That’s what I have to film next, Secret Wars. But Doomsday, we finished that, and that was very great.”

While a whole host of actors have been officially announced for Doomsday, it’s uncertain how many of them will be returning for Secret Wars yet, which is why Wright’s admission is important.
It’s been reported that the The Fantastic Four: First Steps actors Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn are set to appear in Secret Wars, while Sadie Sink has also been confirmed for it.
For Sink, Secret Wars will follow her MCU debut in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day as a mysterious character. Whoever she’s playing, it certainly seems important due to the intense secrecy surrounding it.

A lot of people think she will be playing Jean Grey, and comments from Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige seem to suggest that is the case.
“Reset, singular timeline – we’re thinking along those lines,” he said, adding: “X-Men is where that will happen next.
“They have been a place to tell stories about young people who feel different and who feel other and who feel like they don’t belong. That’s the universal story of mutants, and that is where we’re going.”
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on 18 December 2026. Secret Wars is set for the year after. All four current Avengers movies are streaming on Disney+.
