Their growing interest led Welch and O’Malley to open an indoor facility, The Pickle Dojo, in Peoria, Arizona. “When the building became available and it was 12,500 square feet, we were like, ‘This is perfect! Let’s put four pickleball courts in there,’” Welch said, adding that the venue is designed to cater especially to the 50-and-over community near Sun City.
