Nearly three decades after Married with Children wrapped its 11-season run, the stars of the sitcom have parlayed their fortunes into impressive real estate portfolios.

While the fictional Al Bundy struggled to make ends meet as a shoe salesman, the actors playing the Bundy family were earning six-figure salaries by the end of the series.

Here’s the lowdown on what the cast made and the property they bought, sold, and still call home.

Christina Applegate (Kelly Bundy)

Christina Applegate boasts an estimated net worth of $US25 million ($A37 million).

The Emmy-winning actress has been a stable presence in the Hollywood Hills real estate market.

In 1995, Applegate paid $US950,000 ($A1.4 million) for a home in the Hollywood Hills.

Based on comparable sales in the area, the property is currently estimated to be worth between $US5 million and $US7 million ($A7.5 million and $A10.5 million).

Applegate reportedly earned $US125,000 ($A190,000) per episode during the later seasons of Married with Children.

In 2021, Applegate was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a chronic autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system.

Since then, her symptoms have progressed where she is in constant pain and most days finds it difficult to walk or function physically.

“I didn’t know what was happening to me. I couldn’t walk,” she said at the time of her diagnosis.

“They had to use a wheelchair to get me to set. I was freaking out.”

The pair continue to own another home in the same area, Sullivan Canyon, which was purchased in 2011 for $US3 million ($A4.5 million).

In 2019, O’Neill purchased a home on the Big Island of Hawaii for $US6,250,000 ($A9.5 million).

Situated in the Kailua-Kona area, the four-bedroom estate features a wet bar, four water features, an infinity pool with spa, stone-paved decking, and barbecue station.

Katey Sagal (Peggy Bundy)

Katey Sagal has a net worth of $US40 million ($A60 million) and made some slick property moves.

In 2005, the actress and her husband Kurt Sutter purchased a Los Angeles home for $US3.7 million ($A5.6 million). The home was sold in 2010 for $US3.8 million ($A5.7 million).

That same year, the couple snapped up a Bel-Air home from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry for $US3.7 million ($A5.6 million). They offloaded the mansion for $US7.7 million ($A11.6 million) in April 2022.

Two months earlier, the pair forked out $US5.8 million ($A8.7 million) for a Hollywood Hills home.

The amount of money Sagal was paid for Married with Children is not known.

David Faustino (Bud Bundy)

David Faustino is estimated to be worth $US6 million ($A9 million), thanks to his additional work in voice-over and producing.

The actor has owned a home above the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles since 1995, which he purchased for $US592,000 ($A896,000).

He continues to live in this property, which is now valued between $US2.5 million ($A3.7 million) and $US3.5 million ($A5.2 million).

Unlike O’Neil, Faustino revealed to NBC Washington he doesn’t receive any residuals for Married with Children.

“We got really screwed over. I mean, the show ‘Married With … Children’ was on for 11 years, and we all made really good money while we were doing it,” he told the outlet.

“We made great weekly pay checks, but residuals — we all got screwed over because Fox at the time was not a network, it was a cable network, and so it was under a cable contract.

“So the show ‘Married With … Children’ has made over a billion dollars, and we didn’t really get a piece of that.

“So that’s sort of the backbone of this story. That part is true.”
