As two of the NFC North’s most historic sides, the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have enjoyed plenty of consequential matches over the years.

Bart Starr, Gale Sayers, Paul Hornung and Walter Payton all crossed that familiar patch of grass located on the Near South Side of Chicago. So too did Brett Favre, Mike Singletary, Reggie White and Mike Singletary, among others. Aaron Rodgers cast spells atop the Soldier Field lawn, whistling arrows through the brisk wintery gales throughout his near two-decade spell under center for Green Bay.

Now, his replacement — Jordan Love — will look to find a similar vein of form. The Packers desperately need it; they sit more than a game behind their longtime rivals in the divisional standings.

Green Bay netted a momentous victory over Chicago in Week 14, capitalizing on a late Josh Jacobs touchdown and an even later Kesean Nixon interception to pull close to Ben Johnson’s upstart side. A similar result on Saturday would put the Packers at the top of the divisional standings — moving them one game closer to notching their first NFC North crown since 2021.
