Last Samurai Standing – Renewed for Season 2!
Renewal Date: December 18, 2025
The new series was given a quick second season!
Here’s the logline: In post-samurai era Japan, 1878, 292 fallen samurais are lured into a survival game where the last competitor standing claims 100 billion yen. The battleground begins at Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto, a historical hub and spiritual sanctuary, and ends in Tokyo. Only one survivor will come out of this mysterious and deadly game.

Boots – Canceled After 1 Season
Cancellation Date: December 15, 2025
Boots is one and done at Netflix.
The series is a one-hour comedic drama that delivers an irreverent, off-beat take on the coming-of-age story. Set in the tough, unpredictable world of the 1990s US Marine Corps—when being gay in the military was still illegal—the series follows directionless, closeted Cameron Cope (Miles Heizer) and his best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh), the son of a decorated Marine, as they join a diverse group of recruits. Together, this ensemble navigates the literal and metaphorical landmines of boot camp, forging unlikely bonds and discovering their true selves in an environment designed to push them to their limits. With sharp wit and plenty of heart, BOOTS is about friendship, resilience, and finding your place in the world—even when that world seems determined to keep you in line or leave you behind.

Too Much – Ending After 1 Season
Announcement Date: November 21, 2025
Lena Dunham‘s Too Much is canceled/not getting a second season.
At the FYC panel, Lena explained that they only intended to make it a limited series, so it’s not a big shock that it won’t get a season 2, per Deadline.
“Our intention was always to make Too Much as a limited series,” the Girls alum said. “It was meant to feel like a classic transatlantic love story but with time to really dig into the complexities that a film doesn’t have the space for.”
