Australian model Megan Gale has confirmed she secretly married her partner Shaun Hampson a year ago.
Despite spending years in the public eye, Gale, 50, decided to keep her nuptuals completely private, tying the knot in a quaint ceremony on Vomo Island in Fiji.
Gale confirmed the marriage in an interview with Marie Claire Australia, saying the vows took place in December 2024 with only their mothers and children present.

“When so much of my life has been public, it was really nice to not have this shared or over-shared,” Gale said.
“We wanted it just for us and the family. We told them at dinner the night before, there was a lot of ‘What? No way!’
“But it made it more special.”
Gale said it was exactly the wedding she’d hoped for, and the celebrations ended with her jumping into a sea of water fully clothed.
The couple only decided to share the news now as enough time had passed.

Gale and Hampson, a former AFL player, 37, began dating in 2011.
They welcomed their two children – son River, 11, and daughter Rosie, eight – before he proposed in 2017.
Gale previously spoke out on how she was labelled a “cougar” due to her 12-year age gap with Hampson, something the couple found quite challenging.

“It was being turned into something scandalous,” she said in an interview at the time.
“I was being called a cougar, he was being called a toyboy.”
Gale’s modelling career soared back in 1999, when she was cast in a series of commercials for Omnitel (now Vodafone Italy).

In 2001, she returned to Australia and signed a record-breaking contract as the Brand Ambassador for David Jones.
She starred in the Hollywood movie Mad Max: Fury Road and became the host of Project Runway Australia and a judge on Australia’s Next Top Model.
Hampson, meanwhile, played for Carlton from 2007 to 2013 before moving to Richmond from 2014 to 2018.
He was forced into early retirement in 2018 due to a persistent back injury.
He went on to appear on Australian Survivor: Champions v Contenders a year later in 2019, and later returned for Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains.
