MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota tennis program released its schedule for the upcoming 2026 spring season. The Golden Gophers will open with 14 nonconference matches beginning in January before kicking off Big Ten play in early March.
The Maroon and Gold will open their spring season with two doubleheaders in January. Starting the season at Baseline on Jan. 23, against Iowa State and North Dakota, before heading to Dekalb, Ill. to face Northern Illinois and Western Michigan on Jan. 31Â
Minnesota will continue its nonconference slate in February with six matches. The Gophers open the month on the road, facing Wyoming on Feb. 7 and Colorado State on Feb. 8. Minnesota then returns home to host Alabama, Colorado and Drake on Feb. 14–15, playing Alabama on Feb. 14 and a doubleheader against Colorado and Drake on Feb. 15. To close the month, the Gophers travel to Kansas to face Kansas State on Feb. 20 and Kansas on Feb. 22.
The Golden Gophers open March with a home doubleheader against Denver and St. Thomas on March 1 at Baseline Tennis Center. Minnesota opens Big Ten play at home against USC on March 6 and UCLA on March 8 before beginning conference road play at Purdue on March 13 and at Indiana on March 15. The Golden
Gophers return home to face South Dakota on March 18, then travel east to play at Rutgers on March 21 and at Maryland on March 22. Minnesota closes the month with home matches against Michigan on March 27 and Michigan State on March 29.
The ‘U’ kicks off April with a trio of road trips, facing Wisconsin on April 4, Washington on April 10 and Oregon on April 12. Minnesota then returns home to close out the regular season against Iowa on April 17 and Nebraska on April 19 at Baseline Tennis Center.
The 2026 spring season will mark the third year for head coach Lois Arterberry and assistant coach Anastasia Pennington coaching in the Big Ten.Â
