Days after celebrating a podium at Mont Sainte Anne, the Santa Cruz Syndicate team made one of the biggest roster shifts of the off-season: adding Austrian powerhouse Andreas Kolb for 2026. That news now lands alongside another major update: Laurie “Lozza” Greenland, a fan favourite and fixture of the team for four seasons, is moving on.
The farewell came through an emotional Instagram post that read less like a press release and more like a tribute to a family member. Greenland joined the Syndicate in 2022 and delivered World Cup podiums and a Worlds bronze in Fort William.
“Goodbyes are never easy and this one’s especially tough,” the team wrote. “He’s an actual legend.”
Enter Andreas Kolb: a proven podium threat
The farewell to Greenland comes just months after the Syndicate announced one of the biggest signings of the fall. Shortly after the dust settled at Mont Sainte Anne, where Kolb finished third. The Austrian followed Jackson Goldstone from the podium back to the tent and straight into a contract for 2026.
The timing couldn’t have been better for Kolb. His 2025 season started strong with YT Mob before the team folded mid-year, leaving him unexpectedly adrift. Instead of an anxious off-season, he now has a fresh start with one of the sport’s most iconic programs.
Kolb brings serious pace with him. He stood on two World Cup podiums in 2025; Les Gets and MSA. He finished second at European championships. With Goldstone, the reigning men’s world champion, as a teammate, the Syndicate suddenly has one of the most exciting pairings in downhill.
A heartfelt goodbye, a bold new chapter
Fans are bummed to see Greenland go, but the comments are full of love. Meanwhile, the Kolb signing signals a sharpened focus for the Syndicate heading into 2026.
As the team wrote, “Once a Syndicate rider, always a Syndicate rider.”
Now it’s Kolb’s turn to add to that legacy and Greenland’s turn to write his next chapter.
