Omarion Hampton had a quiet debut for the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday.

In the Hall of Fame Game against the Detroit Lions, Hampton, the No. 22 overall pick by the Chargers, had just two carries for nine yards in the first half before his night was over. Los Angeles opted to keep him on the sidelines for most of the game, likely looking to avoid any injuries before the start of the year.

While Hampton didn’t get much action on Thursday, fans analyzed how he might impact a fantasy football team this year.

Hampton was a first-round draft pick and one of just two running backs taken in the first round for a reason. The North Carolina star had back-to-back seasons with 1,500 or more rushing yards, including last season when he racked up 1,660 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The question for fantasy owners is how quickly Hampton will make an impact.

He’ll likely split carries with Najee Harris, though he could start the season as the team’s starting running back since Harris is currently on the non-football injury list. Regardless of whether he is the starter, Hampton should get plenty of looks as the Chargers look to establish the run game this season.
