A Perth man’s eligibility to hold a gun licence will be subject to a review after police charged him with allegedly posting antisemitic comments on social media.
Police seized several registered firearms from the man after executing a search warrant at his Yangebup home, in Perth’s south, on Tuesday.Â
The man was arrested as part of Western Australia’s Operation Dalewood, which was launched in response to the Bondi terror attack.Â

“The man was a licensed firearms holder and possessed several registered firearms as well as a quantity of ammunition, all of which were seized,” police said in a statement.Â
“The man’s eligibility to hold a firearms licence will be subject to review.”
The 39-year-old is due to face Fremantle Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He is facing three charges, including conduct intended to racially harass, carrying or possessing a prohibited weapon, and failing to store a firearm correctly.
Operation Dalewood has seen WA Police increase patrols and their presence in the community after two gunmen killed 15 people at a Jewish gathering at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on December 14.
