Keaon Koloamatangi is set to sign with the St George Illawarra Dragons for the 2027 season, ending the club’s long wait for a marquee signing.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Koloamatangi will join the club on a five-year deal worth $5 million once the cooling off period ends.
The Rabbitohs had been attempting to keep the forward while the Eels were also in the race. Koloamatangi could still reverse his decision during the cooling off period but it’s unlikely.

Since taking over the Dragons in 2023, Flanagan has struggled to land a big fish in the player market.
His biggest signings have been Clint Gutherson, Damien Cook and Valentine Holmes although all three are in the advanced stages of their careers.

Koloamatangi’s arrival will be a big boost to the Dragons’ forward pack, particularly considering his versatility and ability to play prop or second row.
The Dragons’ signings for this coming season are Daniel Atkinson, Josh Kerr and David Fale.
Meanwhile, it’s a big blow for the Rabbitohs considering Koloamatangi has only ever played at the club.
A number of other players are also off contract at the end of 2027, including Latrell Mitchell, Campbell Graham, Jack Wighton, David Fifita and Jai Arrow.
