Anyone thinking this match is headed into a third day is kidding themselves.

Steve Smith is fighting to survive. He clipped one ball to slips only for it to fall fractionally short of the fielder, another ball went between his legs for four and another reared on him and popped off the bat face.

Even a superb batsman of his lofty status looks to be on borrowed time as the ball continues to duck, dive, seam and rear off this grass-covered pitch.

Cameron Green looks to be more comfortable, but we have said that before.

Australia moves to 6-119, leading by 161 runs (which could well be enough, unless someone pulls out a Shick razor and whips the 10mm of grass cover from the pitch surface).

Smith is 19 off 33, while Green is 19 off 24.
