The 2025 NRL season’s Round 22 clash on Saturday evening sees the St. George Illawarra Dragons take on the Canberra Raiders at the WIN Stadium.

The Dragons are back home after a 38-32 defeat in Townsville against the North Queensland Cowboys. The Dragons lost their 12th game of the season and worse, Jaydn Su’A suffered a season-ending injury.

Next, they face ladder-toppers the Raiders, and the matchup doesn’t look good, based on the Dragons’ performances against the top four this season. They have won just one of their five games when facing a top four opposition in 2025.

On the other hand, the Raiders are on a 10-game winning streak. A win against the Dragons will take them to 11 straight wins, which has only ever happened twice in the club’s history: in 1989 and 1994.

The significance? Canberra went on to win the grand time in both those years. The odds are in their favour when they face St. George Illawarra, against whom they have won all their previous five meetings.
