The 2025 MotoGP season has seen dominance from Ducati and Marc Marquez as he looks on course for his seventh premier class title. But the year has also seen an abundance of crashes.
The championship leader has been caught out on occasion in 2025. Marquez crashed out from the lead in Austin, handing teammate Francesco Bagnaia victory, before suffering another fall at Jerez.
Besides those incidents, Marquez has been almost unstoppable as he has claimed eight out of 12 Grand Prix wins and all but one Sprint victory. Some of his fellow riders have not fared the same luck, as countless crashes for some have hampered their seasons.
Marc Marquez is around the midway point of the crash leaderboard, having had eight in total heading into the summer break. MotoGP News has taken a look at the riders who are at the top for most accidents halfway through 2025.

It is not a ‘coincidence’, as Mat Oxley put it via the Oxley Bom Podcast, to see Honda riders Johann Zarco and Joan Mir top the leaderboard with 15 crashes each. While the RC213V has taken strides forward, evidenced by the former’s win at Le Mans, it has proved accident-prone.
MotoGP fans consider Mir to be the unluckiest rider on the grid, as several accidents have cost him scoring valuable points. The Spaniard has suffered eight DNFs already in 2025, which could cost him next season as Mir’s contract could be ‘terminated’ come season’s end.
KTM’s Brad Binder is joint-second with title contender Alex Marquez, with 13 crashes each. The former is having a torrid season as he struggles to stay on his RC16, while the latter has cost himself a chance at the championship with recent crashes at Assen and Brno.

Marco Bezzecchi, Jack Miller and Franco Morbidelli have all suffered 12 crashes. The latter of the three suffered a heavy accident at Sachsenring during the Sprint, which ruled him out of the following two events.
Ai Ogura is the last rider to have suffered double figures in accidents, as the Trackhouse rider stands with 11. Arch rivals Pedro Acosta and Fermin Aldeguer have nine, before Marquez appeared on the list with eight for Ducati.

MotoGP fans are expressing concerns about circuits after seeing a multitude of crashes in 2025
While the 2025 season has seen new attendance records at certain circuits, it has also seen unwanted feats broken. The French GP broke the record for the most crashes in a single event, with 70 occurring across the chaotic weekend.
Assen was not far behind with 64, with several riders, including Marquez, suffering heavy incidents throughout the weekend. It led to MotoGP fans calling Assen ‘dangerous’ for the sport on social media.
Things only got worse at Sachsenring, as only 10 riders finished the race, with several competitors suffering injuries. Only 18 started the event, with Morbidelli and Maverick Vinales being ruled out due to accidents during the weekend.
Acosta’s fears came true about Sachsenring as he crashed in the early stages of the Sprint. He had expressed concerns about the dangers of the track for riders, which is being echoed by fans and pundits as MotoGP enters a new era under Liberty Media.
