Jenna Ortega looked nearly unrecognizable as she began her press tour for Wednesday season 2, but she still managed to steal the spotlight.
Ortega, 22, arrived at the opening of Le Beach Club de Mercredi (Wednesday’s Beach Club) on July 31, and she was channeling full gothic glam. The Death of a Unicorn star, who plays the titular character in the Netflix series, wore a dress by Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood for the big night. She paired the dramatic gown with bleached eyebrows, a deep burgundy lip, and long, loose waves, her darkest and lengthiest hairstyle in years.
The long-sleeved chocolate brown dress featured a nude, sheer corset that she wore with a dark belt and showed off her cinched waist. She accessorized with a large cross necklace that hung on a pavé black rhodium and diamond chain. Along with her neckwear, she also wore a cross signet ring and a white gold ring. Combined, her jewelry featured nearly 20 carats of diamonds.

Ortega had previously debuted her no-eyebrow look the day prior at Wednesday’s Los Angeles premiere where she sported a similar gothic style with a form-fitting snakeskin dress. Both looks marked a major evolution from her earlier red-carpet appearances and fans were quick to notice.
Though Wednesday became Netflix’s most popular English-language release in 2022, Ortega admitted the surge in fame was difficult to process.
“I wasn’t. I wouldn’t want to know someone who is. I don’t think that should ever be like a normal sort of [experience],” the Babysitter: Killer Queen actress told the BBC in an interview published on July 30. “I’m still very appreciative and grateful. We didn’t know that anyone was going to watch the show. You do these things and you don’t know what’s to come, so it was very overwhelming.”
