A Penn State tight end is entering the transfer portal after one season with the program.
According to On3/Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, Penn State true freshman Andrew Olesh is entering the transfer portal and will have four seasons of eligibility left. He was a five-star recruit in the 2025 On300.

Olesh was also a four-star recruit and the top recruit in Pennsylvania in the 2025 recruiting class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He was also the third-ranked tight end in the class and the No. 57 overall recruit.
He didn’t see any playing time during the 2025 season and will want to change that in 2026 and other future seasons.

Matt Campbell is the new head coach at Penn State after spending the previous 10 seasons at Iowa State. He compiled an 8-4 record during the 2025 season and finished his Iowa State tenure with a 72-55 overall record.

He’s looking to turn Penn State around after the program only went 7-6 this season. The team is only one year removed from playing in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
It’ll be fascinating to see where Olesh and some of the other Penn State transfers, including quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer and fellow tight end Luke Reynolds, end up, since the latter two players also entered the portal.
The portal will be open for two weeks before it closes on Jan. 16. It’s an opportunity for players to go to different schools, and it will be the only portal window of the year.
